CHARITIES & ORGANIZED PHILANTHROPY

Since its inception in 2002, the Durango Double - a festival for runners has raised over $150,000 for worthwhile causes.

"Run With Purpose"

A program of the Women's Resource Center of Durango

Feel Good by Doing Good! If you are already planning to take part in the Durango Double -- a Festival for Runners, why not choose to also “Run with Purpose”? All you have to do is collect pledges from your family, friends and co-workers for every mile you walk or run – even $1 helps. Proceeds will benefit the Women's Resource Center in Durango . The five runners obtaining the most pledges will receive fabulous prize packages. Everyone gets a commemorative "Run With Purpose" tee-shirt and a great feeling from helping women and girls reach their fullest potential.

The ROAD RACE beneficiary will be the Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado.

About The Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado

The Community Foundation is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to develop and grow endowed funds to serve areas of need in Southwest Colorado through organized philanthropy.

Brad Cochennet, Community Foundation Board Member, often uses the analogy of a marathon to explain the Community Foundation. Brad explains, "The foundation's goal is to help grow all endowed funds serving Southwest Colorado by twenty million dollars by the year 2020. Like a marathon, this is a long-term goal and one that will be reached through hard work and perseverance - you can't sprint a marathon and you don't build endowments overnight."
